Default Changing Rear Differential Help

Hey All,

I didn't do this properly, so does anyone know how this may effect the car?

I dropped my rear diff because it was leaking, I thought it would be a fun project. My plan is to just take off the pan, clean the inside, and use atv silicone to create new gasket.

In the process I watched a few videos and realized I should've marked the driveshaft and rear axle orientations with a marker so you can put them back in the original place.

I watched a video saying it is important to do this, but I can't see as to why. Does anyone know if this could impact the engine or rear differential and how to fix it?

Also just curios how do you tell if the rear diff is standard or an LSD diff?

spin one of the output shafts. If the other one spins the same way, it is a LSD, if it spins the opposite way, it is an open diff.

Also, I swapped out my open diff for a VLSD and did not mark anything on the driveshaft or axles. Just swapped the pumpkin and bolted it right up.
