Default 350z cranking but won't start.

I was just driving from the food store the other day when my car lost all engine power while driving. Check engine line as well as VDC and SLIP lights came on. I started the car up again, which took about 6 seconds of cranking over which I thought was kind of a long wait for the engine to start. A few times after when I started the car it took much longer and a lot more tries. I don't drive my car hard or take it to the tracks. I treat her very good. She has just hit 65k miles. I took it to a shop and they said that my camshaft position sensors has to change. I'm not sure that may be the case so I'm asking you guys for a second opinion. What are some common issues that would cause a VQ to malfunction like that?

Sounds like the shop might be right. If u want more peice of mind, look online for the procedure to read the check engine light with the blinks and read the code. As far as issues go, sensor replacements are usually the cheapest and the first stop

Thanks.. and yes, the shop was actually right. It was the camshaft position sensors that were gone. They told me that it would be $300 to repair. I did not agree with that price, so I ended up doing it myself. Everything is now working fine. Thanks again.
