Default 04' Z' Convertible Bar above my head...is it supposed to be like this?

Hey guys,

I bought a used 04' 350z last week, and so far I love it...besides the immediate notice of the axle click, and a faulty window motor (dealer is fixing both for me though). Everything else seems to be good...the first time I Went to lower the top was when I tested it inside the dealership, when it was warmer, etc. It went down fully without any issues.

My first question is this: The bar above my head has a fabric that wraps around it, but it isnt fully attached and doesnt fully wrap around the bar. It is attached at the middle, and towards each end (the left and right) it kind of angles off and isnt fully attached. I saw there are two metals tabs inside, or a little clip on the fabric that attaches to a hole on the bar. These are BOTH broken. The bar still stays in this position however, and the elastic is fine. Will this be OK? Is it supposed to look like this? It hasnt seemed to cause any issues thus far as the bar seems to simple just fold with the frame.

Second question: I tried putting down the top today in colder weather, about 34f, and it got to the very end (where it goes under the rear panel that pops up and swallows it), but the panel did not close fully. Could this be because it was cold and the material is stiffer? The motor seems to be responsive and work fine.

Final question: When I close the top and put it back up, imagine you were look over your should through the rear window. You know that black plastic piece of trim thats attached to the top right behind the small Z glass wind blocker? There's always like an inch or two gap between that and the top of the car panel, but the top appears to be closed fully. This is also normal right?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, but im sure as you all can understand, as a new owner you want to make sure everything is working the way it should be! Attached is a picture of the bar above my head and what it looks like currently. Thank you!!

At the very end closest to the camera is where the tab is snapped.

I think you might be missing the headliner..... I am fairly sure I do not see any of the mechanism like that in my Z.....

Lol I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be like that...esp considering someone else posted a similar pic of the top when they were swapping their elastic bands. It's the bar right above your head
