Default Non-CD009 Syncro Problem Prevention

Hey Guys, I have a 04 (Manufactured 09/03 not an 04.5?) with 90k miles on it with no transmission problems.

I have been searching and looking and I get such a disparity in what the problem is.

some say its only 03's that have the problem, others say only get an 06+
others say there are no bad transmissions only bad drivers.

So I want some tips on how to keep the transmission from grinding. I cant find much advice on this, and I wish there was an official FAQ on this or something.

the most I can find is this:
"2003 6MT
Double cone synchronizers in 1st and 2nd
No triple cone synchronizers

2004 6MT
Double cone synchronizers in 1st, 3rd, 4th
Triple cone synchronizer in 2nd

2005 CD008
Double cone synchronizers in 1st, 3rd, 4th
Triple cone synchronizer in 2nd

2005 CD009
Double cone synchronizer in 4th
Triple cone synchronizer in 1st, 2nd, 3rd"

I checked through a dealer and the transmission was never replaced and the vin plate on the transmission matches the cars vin

I was wanting to do a flush with MT90, but I was wondering if there is any fluid that will help protect me from the grind.

should I avoid burnouts? always rev match? granny shift? danger to manifold?

It's mechanical. You'll never fully prevent the problem from coming up.

When I first bought my '04.5 I was worried too. Forget about it, drive, and replace with a CD009 if the issue ever comes up.

That being said, following your maintenance schedule and not ragging on it will increase the longevity.

wasnt the 04.5 officially the first with the improved transmissions? I would love to find some documentation or official word on this issue.

how many miles have you put on your transmission and have you had an issue?

That's what I've read/heard - but I've never seen any official documentation. I've also heard some '04.5's got leftover '03 transmissions

I have 40k miles on mine. I haven't had any issues at all.
