Default BCM Unresponsive

Ok let me give a little backstory that may help. I love my key recently and found a locksmith that could make me a new one. I was using that key and remote that I just reprogrammed fine for about a week. My old key was found and I am not sure if the issue started when I tried using that to start my car on a very cold day.

My car cranked but wouldn't start and I thought it might have just been a battery issue. I replaced the battery and still no start so I took it to a local mechanic.

He is trying to scan my car and while all the other modules are responding with or without errors, the BCM is only giving him a "!". It is unresponsive and we cannot look into any issues that may be there. He says the power supply and fuses all seem to be in order.

The ECU has also sent back P1610 which is a NATS issue.

I am not sure what to do at this point to get the car going again and wanted to know if you guys had any suggestions.

if you found the old key and tried to use it, that's your problem right there, youll most likely need to get all the keys reprogrammed at a Nissan dealer its usually about an hour of labor here at the dealer I work at its about $100

So trying to use the old key would be the reason that the NATS came up with p1610 and why the bcm may not be working?

that's what im thinking the NATS thing is key related I would think, it shut the key out basically its a theft thing if im not mistaken, I would see if the lock smith could reprogram the old key as well. but that's what im thinking it is, but now that the BCM is shut off it might be more difficult to do.

Shouldnt I be able to just reset the NATS then with the recently programmed key by cycling it through the On position a few times.

I would think so but to be completely honest im not sure, I think the BCM shuts everything out and needs to be reset with the Nissan Assist laptop thing only the dealers have pretty much, I would talk to the locksmith and get him to reprogram it for you
