Ok guys new to the forum and decided to join this one as everyone seems very knowledgable. I just bought my first z a week ago. It is a 03 track edition that has twin turbos on it with all of the other goodies. I can elaborate if necessary. My problem is I bought the car with the vdc and slip lights on. The previous owner said the Vic would kick in since when the engine was pulled the wheel was slightly off and would trigger on hard left hand turns. I have the air bag light on vdc off and slip no horn speedometer or cruise control. He told me he pulled a fuse but I found the 50 amp vdc fuse and it is in there. He found a large black relay fuse I would assume and thought it might be it but could not remember where he pulled it from. I have researched and Hurd cam sensors but it is not that because the car runs fine and has great pull. The tire size is front 245/35/19 and the rear is 275/35/19. Would one fuse affect all of these systems? If so which one and where. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Joe

 

Welcome Joe- it sounds like you've bought a project. None of us can categorically tell you what's wrong with your Z, but buying a car with warning lights on is never a good idea! Now the best idea may be to find a Nissan dealer and get a diagnostic done. Your Z has a sophisticated diagnostic system, but it needs an experienced tech and CONSULT III system to get the best out of them.

 

The car is far from a project. It run and drives fine other than needing a tune in it. I was wanted to know if there was a fuse for all of those systems. I was trying to avoid a dealer as they cost an arm and a leg. Also if anyone has a picture of the fuse cover next to the battery that would be appreciated
Also forgot to say the abs and break light are on and flashing air bag light

 

Do you have original seats? Steering wheel etc? Did the car have a salvage title or was it clean? How do you know the mileage if the speado doesn't work then does the mileage not move? Go check if your speed sensors are installed on the rear differential... If those are missing or faulty that could be a part of your problem...

 

Original seats original wheel and clean title. Odometer does not move. I will check the speed sensors tomorrow but will that affect everything?

 

Not everything but would explain why your spedo doesn't work and your slip light, vdc, air bag is blinking because something is probably not hooked up im guessing or your airbags are missing.

Im going to guess you have more than just 1 issue and its probably not going to be as simple as a missing fuse or relay... however if you pull the abs fuse the vdc,slip light brake light all come on.

 

I tracked down the abs fuses all in order and working with power to them. I am missing 4 out of the box next to the battery. I don't have the cover so I don't know what they do but maybe are not needed since it is a track edition. I have attached a pic

i would say take it to nissan for a diagnosis, but since you are boosted they may not

 

Sell it to a excited new owner just like the last owner did... Without codes etc how are we going to know whats going on with it... You got a highly molested car, your going to need to figure out what therapy it needs to function correctly in society.
