BCM Replacement Question
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a 2003 350Z a couple months ago and unfortunately got hit with the BCM problem that plagued the early 03 models. The BCM apparently wasn't changed when the TSB dropped and now Nissan doesn't make the new part anymore. My question is for anyone that has had their BCM replaced, what part number am I looking for since the one I'm supposed to be looking for (284B1-CD207) apparently doesn't exist anywhere either and I'm tired of buying bad ones from the salvage yards. Thanks for any help,
Frank

The BCM "part number" is actually the number for the software on the BCM. That number doesn't exist any more because it's been updated. You'll need to order a BCM from the dealer. When it comes in, you'll need to have the dealer use Consult 3+ to read the configuration off your current BCM and then write that configuration to the new BCM.

Are you telling them you want that part number or telling them you want a BCM for an '03 350Z?

That part number is the part number for the BCM that I need but Nissan discontinued them last year and the resellers are all out as far I can see. CD005 is the original part number for the BCM but it got superseded by CD207 because a part kept failing inside the original ones. Really don't want to junk a car because I can't get a computer for it.

Select your model, choose category "Computer Box, Not Engine", then select "BCM". Several yards have a CD207 in stock for $150 or less.

Guess I didn't look far enough in the search results because this has been a 4 week process and I'm getting frustrated lol. Thank you though and I'll update if I get this resolved.
