I've been searching for a solution to this for a while and I can't find one. My driver side doesn't leak at all, neither does my hatch or anything else. I've tried to silicone the area on the outside of the tweeter housing but still leaks a good bit into the car. It's going to rain a lot this week and I could really use some suggestions. If not then I have no other choice then go to the dealership...

Also to clarify a few things: my window does go up every time I close it, and it leaks coming in from on top of the tweeter housing. It doesn't leak into it going into the door. Just on top and then dripping unto the interior door panel and then making its way to the carpet

Just replaced that at the dealership and it still leaks. So is it going to be the weatherstripping? The top piece that of sealant meets with the sail/tweeter assembly seems to be in decent condition with no tears or anything noticeably wrong.

 

That may leave just the weatherstripping to look at. Did the dealer diagnose the sail panel seal as the source of the leak before replacing it?

 

Well no, I was just there and had them replaced since I needed an oil change and a key programmed. However, I did liberally spray silicone spray on all the seals and it seems after letting it set with the silicone and then wiping off any excess spray, no water is getting past now. I just wish I would have done this simple task before going through all this trouble and of course paying some $...
But hey, you can't learn without making mistakes. Now it is time for a drink.

It seems like an obvious question, but is the side mirror loose? Those things tend to get loose over time since Nissan didn't use lock-tite on the bolt that ties the mirror to the door. If that's loose, it can be what's causing the leak. Check the mirror bolts to see if they're loose, even if the mirror isn't jiggling around too much.

 

Well not so obvious actually, I checked the mirror and it moves. I wouldnt say it is loose but it does allow some up and down movement. Is this normal or should it be solid? (by the way the silicone lube spray is a rather temporary fix)

 

It should feel solid. You need to take the door panels off, then remove the sail panels. The mirrors are held on by a few nuts. I used some blue loctite on mine. Water would come into the panels whenever I hosed down the car before the fix. After the fix, the problem went away.

 

Well I just tightened it up just like you said a couple days ago... mirror is rock solid now. But it still leaked this morning in the rain. I'm gonna try to the window motor reset procedure to make sure my new window motor is set to go up all the way and if still leaks then I'll just have to deal with it

 

Did you ever figure this out? I just replaced my window motors and now both of my doors leak. Working on figuring it out. It may have been put back together slightly off or the non-OEM motors may be causing it or something else. The windows do kick-up on close too.

 

The problem was that the window seal was bad. I had it replaced at the body shop and the leak stopped... now it does it a little on the drivers side when I wash the car but oh well.!
