Default Idle dip

Has anyone ever experienced this problem when you let go of the gas(and/or with the clutch) and the idle drops below 1000rpm or lower and sometimes the car dies on you. The vvt solenoids and cam shaft sensors have been replaced.

Year? Mileage?.. I'm assuming this started happening AFTER you replaced the vvt solenoids and your cam position sensors? Also, did you use generic replacement parts or genuine Nissan OEM parts?

I got genuine Nissan parts from AutoZone but some ppl have told me it's my timing belt could have a lag and as for the car shutting off I might have a worn head gasket or crack in the engine, which lead to my oil looking darker and metal shavings in it

Can you answer my first three questions as well please?.. And no. Those are not genuine OEM Nissan parts if you got them from Auto Zone...

it's an 04 base model with 153,000 on it. The problem started occurring after my recent oil change (from mileage to full synthetic) and serpentine belt change (found what seems like someone took a knife to the middle of the belt) , which was about 3 wks ago. When it started shutting off was on two different times the first time was back in Feb. I belive and that's when I changed the camshaft sensors and no problem after till that oil change, which I then changed the vvt

I would almost put money on your spark plugs or even more so failing coil packs if you have not yet replaced them recently. My Z something very similar to this recently a new coil fixed it.

Edit: IF it is a coil pack it will be very hard to pinpoint exactly which one until it actually fails. I'd hate to say replace them all if you don't need too but if you haven't then its definitely about that time.

Alright.. From WHAT to full synthetic? High mileage conventional?.. Also, the Z does not like generic sensors and variable intake valve timing solenoids. It likes OEM Nissan when it comes to sensors and the vivts. So that could be your issue.. Is it throwing any codes?
