I'll keep coming back until I fix this issue. How would I be able to diagnose a faulty a/c amp ? I took apart part my dash to take a look at the ribbon and it looked great. No cuts or anything loose from what I gathered. It has a stock head unit and was purchased from a single owner who ,to my knowledge, did not modify the car.
Thanks to all again
You can have the A/C Climate Control Amp checked with a CONSULT computer at a dealership to see if it's working. It's a cheaply made, proprietary circuit board in a white box that sits behind the climate control ***** that Nissan uses in our Z and is prone to failure. New, they're ridiculously expensive. Used, expect to pay between $100 and $150. Get one with a return warranty if you go used. It's a simple ribbon cable connection in the back. There are YouTube how-to videos on this, I'm sure.
I had a similar issue recently. It was the ac box ribbon. It looked good visually. I just pulled the shifter surround, started the car and tried pushing and playing with the connection to the *****. At some angle I got it to work but quits right when I let go. That told me the connection to the ***** was bad. I ordered a used box and replaced just the cable. The cable is totally replaceable. Just take out the screws to open it. There is a flip attachment that needs to be lifted. Hard to explain but it becomes clear when you open it.
