Default Coolant and

hey so earlier I was driving nornal city speeds and all of a sudden my temperature gage started to rise in temperature. I was close to my destination so I just pulled in and opened the hood. I opened the coolant resivoir and it was bubbling (level looked fine) so I waited for a little about (15 min) and then I drove to autozone to ask them about it. As i headed to autozone i noticed that the gage would only go up when i turned the ac on. The autozone reffered me to a mechanic and as i drove to the mechanic I noticed that the gage was reading normal and the ac was still off. I get to the mechanic and he tells me hell check it out tommrow so i drive home, on my way home the temperature gage was still reading normal. Once i got home i went inside for a little (about 20min) then i went back outside and checked out the coolant and noticed that there was very little coolant in the resiovir I took the car for a ride around and the temperature gage stayed regular. Then I added coolant to the max level because the level was extremely low. I then took the car for another ride and again the temperature gage was normal. Im posting to see if this may be a problem other then my coolant being low. Also my ac heat (on full blast and hotest temperature) when I was not driving the air would be kinda warm but once I started to drive the heat of the air went up significantly. Thanks for any opinions 😊

If you're not dripping coolant, then check the condition of your oil. If it has a milky color, you've got a blown head gasket. Like Travis said, you really need to do some basic troubleshooting on this. Check the FSM and run down the troubleshooting list with regard to the cooling system. UV dye can often help you quickly determine where coolant is leaking (assuming it's an external leak.) Check the condition of your radiator cap as well. If that's beyond what you can do, then take the car to a mechanic before you throw any money at it attempting shadetree fixes.

If it get's hot when you you raise the rpm then the coolant is low.
Don't add straight coolant to the system, coolant doesn't cool the system, it just stops the water from freezing. Add 50/50 mix
