Default Transmission problem

i have a cd002 6MT box, i took it to have it worked on and it shifted fine before. Now it's back from the mechanic and only shifts from 1-4. 5th gear seems nonexistent and trying to go into 6th puts it in reverse without pushing down the shifter. Can anyone tell me what went wrong?

Did you explain this to the shop or mechanic from which you just picked it up from?.. They probably went for a joyride and beat the **** out of it. But who knows. That's why I don't take my Z to any of these 'mechanics'. You can't trust most of them.

Sounds like the shifter plate may be misaligned. Try this: https://my350z.com/forum/engine-driv...alignment.html

Thanks for the quick replies. Turns out the shifter plate was misaligned. Got it lined up and she shifts like a dream again.
