ECU help
Hi All,
I’ve been scouring the web and have come to no clear answer.
I now own a 2007 350z 6sp MT Base - California
I’m having a hard time finding a replacement for my ECU labeled M1 MEC100-260 C1
Two questions:
Would part number M3 MEC100-280 C1 work once it’s reprogrammed?
If not, what is the best alternative?
thanks in advanced.

1) What diagnostics lead you to believe your ECU took a dump?
2) A simple Google search "200X Nissan 350Z ECU" should get you going. Or-
3) Call Z1motorsports.
GL!
The car is sufferring from the hazards not flashing on the dash sydrome. so for the past couple of months I would leave the battery disconnected. After about a week, sometimes two, I would reconnect the battery and press the hazard switch. IF I'm lucky, my signal lights on the dashboard will flash accordingly. Only then will my car actually start. So, long story short, this last time I was able to start the car, I drove straight to nearby general mechanic. During the trip, however, my hazards no longer would flash on the dashboard. BUT the car remained on and I was able to continue to drive it to the shop.
Because the guy at the shop can't "communicate" with the car currently, he thinks it's a bad ecu.
What's totally confusing me is the fact that there's numbers on the ECU, mine being MEC100-260 C1 6Y05, but I can't find a replacement with the matching numbers. I called Nissan today and gave the parts guy this number and he was like "what is this?" He said the official part number is 23710-EV10C (which is out of stock, back-order, no longer existing.....in short, they don't have any)
I was able to find available: MEC100-270 (AUTO), MEC100-280, MEC100-290.... BUT NO "260"

Ok, so call Z1Motorsports and describe your problem. If you really need a new ECU, they'll flash it, send it and all you do is plug it in. GL!

yeah, reflashing was considered, but that wouldn't cover any potential physical damage; fried chip or something. My mechanic wants to plug in another ECU to see if he can establish communication regardless of whatever error codes may arise. As it stands he can't even connect his reader.

They will sell you a new or reman ECU. You agree to send yours back to them as a core. You'll need your VIN.
UPDATE - Shortened version... bad IPDM
Longer version -
after some social networking I found an "extended" friend that works for Nissan. He also suggested starting with the ecu and told me to find ANY ECU, as long as it was the same year and transmission. That provided some relief now knowing I didn't have to seek the specific "M1 MEC100-260 C1" ECU. But Murphy's law came into play and the one ECU I found and paid for got cancelled as it appeared to have been damaged prior to packing. SOOO, i called a salvaged yard from another city, they had what I needed, ordered and came the next day. To my pleasant surprise, it just so happend to be a "M1 MEC100-260 C1"...
After plugging in the bought ECU. Car still wouldn't start on queue. All the fuses and relays were good. He decide to jiggle the IPDM while having someone turn the ignition, sure enough the car started, everytime. However, he still couldn't connect the diagnostic tool. Another $100 later and swapped IPDM, I'm good to go! Woo-hoo!
Thanks, again, to all who've responded!

^^ Actually have a similar problem with my clone 03 350z touring … no 0-5volt output to the TB … not sure if the IPDM is gone or if the ECU crapped out.
I plugged in two other IPDM and no fix and then I swapped in a stand alone ECU and the TB cycled…so I’m not 100% sure but I’m gonna be looking at a new ECU and deleting NATS. Appreciate the info on the ECU.

Thanks for answering. I also want to know and that is why I was searching for it online and found your post. I also found https://www.topessaywriting.org/samples/management website link in which I found a lot of essay samples and I can read all of them for free.
