Default Upper oil pan damage

Bolt snapped in upper oil pan while installing a oil pan spacer. Tried drilling it out but it didn't center as well as I thought it did. Any chance of salvaging this or need a new pan.

A new pan is most likely the best option.

Deleted my original comment. I see you drilled clean through the broken bolt and upper pan. At this point, you could try tapping the hole you made, ideally the original thread size (or next size up). Oil pan bolts don't require much torque, so long as you didn't crack the upper pan and the newly tapped hole lines up with your lower pan, you should be ok. Otherwise you can try a thread insert kit, there's more than enough meat there to accommodate one and as stated earlier, these bolts don't apply a mountain of clamping force on the lower pan. If that all fails, then yeah, new upper pan.

DK has the best advice in that, thats the best way but I would just put the oil pan spacer and lower oil pan back on and ensure to use a little more RTV around that hole and ensure the two surrounding bolts are torqued correctly. Give the RTV more time (like 2 days to 3days) to cure up and I suspect you’ll be fine.

So you drilled all the way through? Put a thinner bolt and a nut on that one.
