front wiper not working
hey yall,
im the new owner of a passed around burple ( changes from blue to purple ) 2003 350z track package.
the previous owners ran into the same problem with the front wiper fuction switch not working.
they installed a toggle switch to use said wipers. wipers do work with the toggle but will not activate when running an active test on my snap on scanner.
do yall have any sugestions? thanks again.

Sounds like someone did a hack job on the wiring to install that toggle switch, meaning the circuits that allow you to actuate the wipers via a bi-directional scanner are no longer functional.
Why the toggle switch was installed in the 1st place vs. fixing it right, I don't know. The column wiper switch might be broken, there could be a problem with the BCM or IPDM, but in order to test that theory, you would need to undo the "modifications" made by the previous owner. The column switch is wired directly to the BCM, which commands the IPDM (relays and main power for the wiper motor) over the CANBUS, this is why you have special functions on your Snapon scanner for actuating the wipers. I suspect the PO bypassed one or both of the front wiper relay circuits to install the toggle switch.
Get a copy of the 2003 Factory Service Manual from Niccoclub. Look at the "WW" section for "Wiper, Washer & Horn" You can find the circuit flow diagram there, along with harness locations, wire colors, pinouts, etc.
Good Luck!
