Default Tire Feathering caused by tires not suspension

I was on tirerack.com reading the reviews on the Bridgestone RE040s. It seems like everyone that has them has tire feather no matter what type of car. This leads me to believe it isn't the suspension on the Z, its the tires. Anyone change their tires to a different brand and still have tire feathering?

Here is the link to the reviews.

I had Bridgestone S03, didn't have feathering.. Changed them out when it hit 10,000 miles.

I am using Falken FK-451 now, and I have 6000miles so far, and feather is back

So I don't think it matters what brand of tire it is..

Thanks for the input. I was getting excited thinking all I had to do was change to a different type of tire.

Might want to check out the latest issue of "Sport Z Magazine. An article on this subject and what should be the TOE setting.

Nice "tease" but since it is not sold on news stands and they do not publish current articles on there web site there is no way for any of use to see the article you are refer to.

I just had the 040 tires replaced- one of them threw chunks of the tread blocks, and started to separate from the belts, as well as feathering even after the dealer had switched them from side to side- this only lasted about 1000 miles before catastrophic failure.
The treadwear rating on the 040's is only 140 by the way. This means that you can expect 10000 miles or less. I have found since getting the new tires, they work better at 38 to 40 pounds than at the recommended pressures. A bit stiff, but the wear seems more uniform. The limit for these tires is 44 pounds based on the sidewall data, although they also state do not mount on the rim above 40 pounds.... a bit confusing. good luck
