Unhappy 04' Cloth seat fraying

I've only got 1500 miles on my Z and I could tell that my drivers seat is starting to wear at the outer lumbar side. My behind hits it everytime I get in the car. I though they corrected this promblem. Anyone with a 04' having this problem?

There is a TSB out for this. At least there was for the 03. I'm sure they'd do it for yours since the car is so new. I'd take it to the dealer and tell them about the TSB (technical service bulletin) for cloth seat fraying. They are suposed to replace the cloth cover for you for free.

Goofy1477....they is a TSB for the 2003's. I'd take it back and make them fix it. Do a search there's info on the 03's.

I did. 2 times. 2 different dealers. This also was in the past 2 weeks. They said there was no bulliten. I guess I will do a search and look for it.

Yep! They replace the worn stock cloth with a thicker more durable one.

Unhappy Re: 04' Cloth seat fraying

Ive got an 04 with 3500 miles on it (only a little over 2 months old though) and I noticed yesterday that my drivers seat is also starting to fray. The number of little problems that I have had with this car is really starting to concern me!

I just had the TSB done on my 03 Track seats. Came out great. No issues with the dealer. I waited a week for the delivery.

Install results: Can't tell.. material looks the same but it is thicker and rougher to the touch.

I took my car to the dealer yesterday for this issue and a passenger side window issue. They told me that they can't do anything for the seat until an actual seam is broken. The seat looks terrible, and so I'm pretty sure that seam will be broken very very soon.

I have like 1800 miles on mine and the seats look like as if they just came outa tha factory. I tend to try keeping my seats new by not rubbing on them all tha time.

Thats bulllshit. They are just passing the buck trying to get out of doing they work. BE more assertive with them and print up a copy of the TSB to show them.

I am having trouble getting my transmission replaced.

No it's not like that at all... I actually know the service rep, and he's a fellow enthusiast. He basically told me that if the seam broke, he'd replace teh covers no questions asked.

You need to get yourself some of these. I put these on for the very purpose of protecting the stock seats. They fit perfectly, and so far have proven very durable. They're made of high-quality neoprene (Yep, scuba suit).

What are the seat covers and where do you get them?
