Default Finally...Possible"CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT" For Tire Feathering

I cannot be more specific then this due to a request from my Law firm, but this would be for anyone who purhcased a 350Z in Pa, NJ, Or DE... There are over 8 cases(at the same legal firm--all they do is lemon law and auto suites!) for tire fearthering and pulling/handling issues right now that are being lemon lawed. Nissan is being very hard to deal with(which is how they are), with that being said , There are plans right now as to proceed with a class action lawsuit against Nissan. This would be a huge case and a big help to all of us even those who are not in these three states. I wish i could offer more details at this point but I was told to "please keep this tight lipped" AS soon as I have more info on this I will post it with full details! , If this comes to fruition I would need everyones names, vin's etc that have been affected and then the lawfirm would contact everyone by letter to fill out Documentation.. From my impression, there woud not be fees to the consumer becuase of the laws in NJ/DE/PA....Again, I wish i could offer more at this point, BUT THERE IS HOPE AGAINST NISSAN!!!! And we will Beat them! I should know much more in a few weeks!

At this point, this class action suit would give this problem huge exposure......I hope to hear from the attorneys shortly as they are preparing all the TEchnical issues that involve a case liek this, but from what I've been told they have plenty to back all the claims up........I se NO reason nissan would have a FR#$kin chance on this one.....Take that NISSAN, Lets see you try to worm your way out of your incompetant enginering IN COURT!!!!!
I will keep you all posted!!! As I find out more..Anyone that would be interested in the suit please just post an (i'm in) to this thread so I know how many people we have in the PA/NJ/DE area...
Thanks everyone

Miami, Fla here, second set of fronts, several alignments later at 14,500 miles I can hear the rumble starting again. Keep us posted.

I don't "hate" Nissan for it, or think it incompetent. I think they should learn from other large co mistakes (Firestone, etc) face the problem, solve it, that is all we are asking for. Telling to try different alignment settings until we find the right one IS NOT a solution.

And if the answer is new tires every 7500, forget about it, I will be selling the car and not buying Nissan after that.

The funny thing is that with Eibachs and caster arms, the wear on my rear tires was so even it surprised even the alignment professional. They were totally absolutely flat and even. They lasted 13,500...

I am in NJ and replaced my wheels and tires at 15k miles and had the alignment done myself but my original tires were also feathered, the only thing is that I threw them in the garbage....

Update here in Philly...

I just called to make an appointment for service and again mentioned the feathering problem and how there are 3 TSBs for it now and the fact that the last time they rotated the tires it didn't do anything for me. I asked if there is anything else they (Nissan Dealer in Exton) can do for me and if Nissan has told the dealerships if they are planning on doing anything.

As for the later part... he pretty much avoided that question.

HOWEVER, he did say that he will see about replacing the tires for me.

I guess we'll see on Monday when I take it in. I MAY be getting a new set of tires.

I'll keep you updated.

Of course they'll be replacing your tires they are going to try to keep you happy. but no matter how many tires they replace they WILL still feather. btw, they will try to convince you to go with the michellin pilots (they are harder tires, you'll lose some performance but will last longer before feathering again.)
if you are planning a case against them don't go with the michellin pilots because they will take a bit longer to feather again therefore you'll have to wait longer to prove your case. NISSAN HOPES THAT THE MICHELLIN PILOTS WILL KEEP YOU HAPPY LONG ENOUGH TO PASS THE DEADLINE FOR FILING A LEMON LAW SUIT. AFTER THAT YOU ARE SCREWED

If the Michellins feather too.... what won't feather?

I thought it was the tires - the Potenzas that were the problem.

Make sure you keep all of yoru record!!! and have them state "tires are feathered" on your work order, not by you but by the Tech who worked you car...this will only give you 3-4000 more miles on the tires.. in Pa, you have no cost lemon law to you and keep that in mind, after 3 attempts, nissan is doen, you can lemon law it, or possibly go class action when that happens.....
keep us posted on this thread!!!

THE PROBLEM WITH THE 2003 Z'S (and early 2004's) IS THE SUSPENSION THAT IS WHAT KEEPS EATING THE TIRES UP UNEVENLY. NOW NISSAN PUTS NISMO SUSPENSION KITS ON THE Z'S.

OF COURSE THEY DON'T WANT TO ISSUE A MASS RECALL ON THE 2003'S CAUSE IT WILL COST THEM TOO MUCH $. THEY PREFER TO DEAL WITH A FEW **** INDIVIDUALS (LIKE US) WHO WILL PUT THE EFFORT IN GOING TO TRIAL.
