Default Fixing Transmission Myself !!

Has anyone tackled trying to repair their 3rd gear grind themselves? Please pass on any info! Thanks

Probably not a good idea. Nissan doesn't even allow their own Dealers to work on the transmissions which is not surprising given that most Nissan Dealers can't even change a tire without screwing something up. And what if the transmission can't be fixed? What if it is an inherent design issued that causes the failures? Do you really want to void your warranty in that case?

i agree.


why would you do the work anyhow? even with a helms manual for the Z, unless you have much experience working with trannys, especially close gearing trannys as in the Z, then i would recommend taking it to a reputable nissan dealership.

no warranty ? car has a 60k drivetrain warranty standard..

you do some mods that voided it ?
