I was chillin at a friend's house Friday night. I left to go home, stopped for gas, and under the gas station lights, I noticed someone had keyed my car from the headlight to the antenna on the driver's side!!! They even keyed the headlight! I am so pissed off. I've had it for 2 months. It only has 1100 miles on it. People suck.

 

So I guess I have to get the whole driver's side repainted now, huh?

Keying has been part of the hater coward olympics for decades but seeing on a Z makes me ticked.

I know one day someone will probably scrape or nick my car so I'm not going to put my eye on it all the time. Hell its worth watching every once and awhile just to catch someone do that.

It's just a car, but all my rational will probably go out the window.The perp will most likely get all my 175 lbs of suicidal fury!

is the key mark down the the primer or is it a light scrap down the side. If it is like and you may be able to use a buffer to polish it out. Been there done that.

It's a deep scratch. I doubt they used a key. It's down to the primer. They started on the headlight. Don't know if my insurance will replace it. I doubt it. The adjuster came out today to look at it. They're gonna let me know what's up. They said definitely over $1000. I still can't believe this happened. Guess I'm not supposed to have nice things...

 

Sorry about what happend. Some A-hole did key'ed my chrome silver last week. But reset assure, those jackass will get what they deserve.

 

dude that totally blows. i concider those people to be as low a people who put needles in their arms. they aren't man enough to confront you in person. instead they go the coward way and take it out on such a beautiful car.

Check with your insurance, some policies have vandalism protection. Also depending on your deductable, it would be cheaper if you just put in a claim. Sorry about your car.

 

Wow man.. so sorry to see that. People are completely unbelievable nowadays.. Just know that someone's life must be pretty pathetic if they have the need to do that. They'll be paying for it for the rest of their lives anyway. F them. Good luck to you.

Thanks everyone. I'm still waiting for the insurance adjuster to get back to me. I've been on travel since it happened, and won't be back for 2 more weeks. I feel so damn helpless. I just really hope I find out who it is. Most people don't do things like that and not talk about it. I live in a pretty small area. News spreads fast around there.

 

Really sorry to hear that...I've had some of my vehicles "keyed" in the past...that's why you should get yourself a "beater" and keep the Z for weekend's...that's what I do with my '01 Vette...driven only on nice days and driven only to safe places (where I can keep an eye on it)...it sucks, but the jerks are out there...they can't own one so they make it miserable for those who can.
Take your time and find a good shop that will be able to repaint it right.

 

I feel for you man. Had someone throw a beer bottle at my car and dent it a few months back. I just pray that i catch someone if something like that ever happens again, so I can beat them senseless
