Default Help!!!! car has died

Looking for some help on the forum. I have a 2004 350, touring. NO mods, just a kn filter. Friday night car just died on the freeway. Pulled over and tried to start again. The car would start, but idel very low, at like 300-400 rpms and then just die. Tired again and if gas was applied, would just die. Let the car sit for 2 days, and started right up, but check engine light was on. Took to Nissan today, and service dept has no clue, but said it might be the kn filter, which i highly doubt. Any help?????

There was a recall on the car for issues concernng the engine with characterisitics like what you mention. It had something to do with engine sensors.

Sounds like a crank position sensor. It will be covered under warranty.

possibility that some of the oil from the K&N contaminated the MAF sensor?? I also run a K&N and checked it before installation to be certain it didn't appear to be 'over-oiled'.

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday. I have yet to take to the dealer. 2004 ZR touring. I have not done one engine or filter mod. It scares me to have read this thread. I have a very bad feeling:-( If anyone wants to contact me about this, my e-mail is : drbtc@adelphia.net "FLZ", Dave
