tire feathering only on 03 models? how bout 04?
Hi, just about to purchase Z for myself. lookiing at both used 03 or new 04. Reading these tire problem posts worries me a bit. do 04 models have the same problems or are they limited to 03's only?
Thanks in advance for any inputs.

Interested in 350z's now eh? Well I've read around and I have seen around 5 04 models that have feathering, but I also have seen some without.
I'd probably wait until the 05 models come out to absolutely sure they have fixed the problem.

I just passed 4K miles on a DB '04 with a 12/03 build date. No problems whatsoever. While the mileage is still low, some hint of feathering should be appearing by now. I check the tires at least once a week because of the problems being reported here. I feel the tires, visually inspect them, and listen for feathering. None yet -- some more miles, maybe?
BTW, I know what feathering is. I had it on the '98 Acura GSR I traded for the Z (as a result, I know what it feels like to buy a set of Z rated tires every year)!
