Default sensor question

I curbed my car the other day and had some suspension components replaced. Two wheels are bent, so they do not want to do an alignemtn until I get new wheels or streighten them. So, the car does not pull at all, feels great, but the steering wheel is at 1:30 (on a clock) when driving streight. After a few seconds of driving, the VDC light comes on, but not the brake light(like others have experienced with sensor problems). Could this just be that the steering angle sensor is picking up the extremely poorly aligned car? It is off everytime I start the car. Will it stay off once I get an alignment?
Thanks
