Cracked Windshield - where to go?
I got a nice crack in my windshield from a small rock. Right now it's the size of a peanut. I'd rather not replace it but use one of those places that fix it by filling it.
Does anybody know any places that do either or both types of repair?
I'm in NJ if that matters.
Thanks

The filler will leave a noticeable mark, but it will be better than a bare chip and crack.
You should be able to get a new windshield for less than $200 if you do not use insurance....
I replaced my son's porsche windshield (with an embedded antenna) for $185.
Insurance will cost about $750 (cost to insurance company not you)
Good luck either way

Decided to go with a repair job. Since I could get hit again and wouldn't want to replace another windshield. Had Safelite Auto Glass fix it. 20 minute repair job, its barely noticeable. 60 bucks. Done.
I also had a crack in my windshield and my Insurance Company replaced it for Free. And I asked before doing anything if my insurance will go up and since it is not my fault the answere was that my insurance will not change.
