I'm getting a really anoying squeeking noise from the driver seat when making a turn or moving around in it.. I have touring with leather power seats. This weekend I want to remove the seat and lube everything down or tighten down everything.
Has anyone had this same problem? and what have you done to fix?
How hard is it to remove the power seat?
Thanks.

I started getting this squeek also in the drivers seat about two months ago, usually when I take a corner. Sounds like a spring or something needs some oil. But I'm not mechanically inclined enough to try taking seats out. I've got about 50K miles on it so far, one of the pre-order models that arrived Sept 2002. Not enough of a squeek to be real annoying yet. Through searching on this board, hardly see any mention of this squeek from others.
I recently noticed a squeek from my passenger seat that sounds similar. After checking it out, I realized that it was just the seatbelt rubbing on the seat. Moved the seat back some and now no problems.
I got this bad, and have had it for some time. Search this forum, there is a guide for removing seats. You need to be careful when removing your seat if you have airbags.. (and presently I cant remember if the tourings have the side impact bags).
Anyway, I've decided to attack mine with some wd-40 and 3in1. I was going to take the seat out, but I might be able to save a lot of time with the spray fix first.
Let me know how yours goes, Ill return the favor.

FIXED.
Need:
a.) Flashlight
b.) WD-40 (super small can size works best)
c.) Paper towel
1. Buy a can of wd-40. The small travel-purse size can for 299 at the grocery.
2. Take out your driver side mats, and move your seat all the way back.
3. Place the paper towels flat under your seat so as to protect the carpet from overspray.
4. Now, look under your seat, and first find the lever you just pulled to move your seat back.
5. Now that you are looking at the black bar you used to push your seat back, look directly behind it at the anodized steel cross bar behind it. It is nearly brass in color, and runs laterally, from the right side of the seat to the left.
6. Spray wd-40 all around the area that that bar connects into the right (gear shift side) floor bracket. Move the seat back and forth laterally a little. Pulling it out towards the door, and pushing it back into the center console. Spray again and keep moving the seat until the squeak stops.
Good Luck
