Default Any hints for getting the rear license plate off?

I'm trying to change my plates and I'm having a problem getting the rear plate off. The whole screw assembly just spins, I think the female part is no longer attached to the car, so it along with the screw just spin together. It can go either way endlessly.

Am I going to have to take apart the rear hatch so that I can get a wrench on the inside part and keep it from spinning?

Any hints?

I had the same problem. I couldn't get the bolt out to put my license plate on (it came that way). All it did was spin. I tried lots of things, and ended up using a small pair of bolt cutters to cut the head off. The nut and the rest of the bolt fell inside the bumper cover and onto the floor. Then I replaced the bolt and nut clip.

Alright. Thanks, that sounds like it's what I'll have to do. Now I got to find a bolt cutter, maybe my local jiffy lube will have one.

I did it the harder way and took the bumper off.

Hmm, I'm hoping to avoid that.

Still haven't had time to get this done, hopefully soon.
