Default Headlights: Lenes Cracked!!

The lens on both my headlights craked. I have about 30 cracks in one lens and 15 or so in the other.

My car had been parked for about 45 minutes, and both lens just started cracking.

Has anyone else had their lens crack?

I am on something of a road trip. The dealer is going to take pics before replacing them. I will try to get him to send me the pics. I don't have a camera with me.

I took it to a dealer where I am currently visiting, and the service manager said it would be covered under warranty. I am suppose to get them replaced Thursday or Friday.

I will let you know how it comes out.

I talked to the Dealership today that is going to replace my headlights. The Servicer Writer said that he found some "Technical Notes" about the lens cracking. He said they "suspect" that some people are using oil based cleaners on the headlights, and the cleaner and the plastic is having some sort of chemical reaction and causing the cracks. He also said that they don't know if this is the problem or not.

The dealer said my car was the first one he has seen with this problem, but he had a second car come in today with the same problem.

Thanks for the info. My cracks look like they might have been caused by stress as well. The dealer had another car come in the next day with the same problem.

My car is at the dealer right now. I should have it back tomorrow. I will update when able.

No additional information on my caracked lens. No pics either. Like I said earlier, I was traveling and did not have a camera and the dealer decided not to take pictures.

Got them both replaced without a problem.
