Default ChicagoZ car club--January car of the month *PICS*

APS TT 350z:

ChicagoZ.com: What got you hooked to the Z that you ended up purchasing it?

BriGuyMax: I saw the new "Z" at the Detroit Auto show in January of 2002. I stood and stared at it for 20 minutes straight before my friend made me leave. I wanted a RWD Japanese Sports car, and it came down to choosing between a used Supra Turbo or the new 350Z. I couldn't justify paying over 30 grand for a 5-6 year old car, so that's why I have the Z.

ChicagoZ.com: What action does your Z mostly see? drag, autox, road race, show car, weekend car, and/or daily driver...

BriGuyMax: My Z started out as my daily driver, but now it's basically just my nice weather car. It sees the drag strip a couple times a year, and I'll start taking it to road courses again late this summer when I upgrade the cooling system.

ChicagoZ.com: Any performance specs? 1/4 mile@mph, whp/wtorq, track times...

BriGuyMax:
Power: 430whp @ 9psi, 460whp@ 10psi
0-60: approx. 3 seconds
1/4 Mile: 11.72@120mph 1.73 60'

ChicagoZ.com: What other modifications are you planning on doing to the Z, if any? Whether it's performance, handling, appearance, and/or sound system....

BriGuyMax: In the near future I'm going to upgrade the cooling system and install an oil cooler. I've also been tossing around the idea of APS 3.5in test pipes, APS 3in. true dual exhaust and methanol injection to see how far I can take the stock motor. If and when I blow it up, I'll have a built motor waiting to be installed.

ChicagoZ.com: Won any awards? Have any sponsorships?

BriGuyMax: Negative. My car isn't about show, it's about going fast and looking basically stock.

MODIFICATIONS:

Engine and Drivetrain:
APS Twin Turbo kit
Completely stock motor
JWT HD clutch and lightweight aluminum flywheel
Helix test pipes and a Borla true dual cat-back exhaust (2.5 inch dual)

Brakes:
13.1 in. Stoptech big brake kit

Suspension:
Nismo S-tune

Exterior:
Front clear corners

Interior:
Greddy Profec-S electronic boost controller, Defi Boost Gauge, AEM UEGO Wideband A/F meter.

Wheels:
Front 18x9.5in Volk SF-Winning wrapped in 245/40-18 Bridgestone Potenza S-03 tires, Rear 18x10.5in Volk SF-Winning wrapped in 295/35-18 BFGoodridge Drag Radials.

Nice try, but its a Z. If you want it to be a sleeper, put on some Honda Civic body kits.

You know I've been on a roadcourse or two in my day. If you think you can keep up, maybe we could put a little cash on it and have someone record our lap times.

PS - I won't be on a street tire or a street pad.

You, Bri and Kopo need to bring the unholy trinity of power out to the track this year. Then I can pass all of you with only a measly n/a liter!!
