I know its probley a newbie Question. But why do thay put the blue tape on the headlights? is it just for rock chips and what not.

I found out the hard way that the painters tape method doesnt always work. i double layered my headlights and they still got a crack in them from the debris from the apron of a NASCAR track i ran at

Nice pics! I haven't been to Laguna Seca since I spectated an IMSA race there in '78. Would love to run there!

As to head light protection, I have had VERY good luck with my 3M clear protection. Over 30 track days & 38,000 miles with NO cracks or chips!
