Daily wheels: Help me decide.
My cousin wants to trade me his oem 19inch rays G35 wheels for my sport max.. he got some 20inch HRE's for his G35 and just has em laying around, so he said he would do it. Anyhow... what should i stick with?
19inch OEM G35 rays wheels?
or
19x8.5/19x9.5 SportMax 962s?
here is pix of both for comparison.
The 962s
and the Rays 19s...

Both look nice the only reason why i would go with those rims over the G35 rims is because of the lip and the fact that your car looks like your in the process of modding your car out with the tinted tails and spoiler so after market rims go better with your ride; but other then that G all the way if you were just going to do a front lip and a lil tint windows. but both look good

I vote RAYS just because you used a pic of my car to "promote" them.
Either one looks good though!!
If you need anymore pics of RAYS on the Z, I have a ton. I plan to take some more this weekend. I got/made some new centercaps for them, so I could get rid of the Infiniti ones. I love the RAYS, but I did wish they had a little more lip...
EDIT: I think on your ride the 962s may look better. The tinted tails, agressive spoiler, etc. have a more agressive look while the RAYS are more of a 'luxury' look...

962s
but ONLY because Silkk has spacers on his rims, and you would need the same for them to look that good/aggressive
plus the gunmetal finish on the 962s match your tints as mentioned earlier

well.. the car is in its "tear down" phase right now, i took the body kit off, and a few other parts. im just trying to change the look of the car. I do have a set of 4 Project Kics spacers, but they dont work with the 962s, since the backing of the wheels doesnt accept the excess wheel stud from the stock studs. Im trying to get a top secret front lip and maybe nismo sides/rear with a c20 wing. We'll see how it turns out.. hehe.
ps. thanks silkk for the awesome pictures. i have a bunch saved lol. i looked at them for a while to help me think about it. lol

You could always sand down the excess stud and use the spacers with the Sportmax?
Otherwise, I think the RAYS will look great with the spacers. The pic of your car with them looks cool to me...

Hmmm... I don't think taking the excess off the studs would prevent normal sized wheels from bolting up, but I could be wrong...
The excess (.2" or so? if i remember from mine) shouldn't prevent the stud from coming through a normal wheel of the correct offset? I guess I never really though about it, however I'm guessing (or hoping) they would make the stud a little longer than it actually had to be to mount a wheel...

If not though, installing new studs definitely is not worth the hassle...
I'd probably just trade for the RAYS and be done with it... with spacers they look great, they are light as heck, look much bigger than the sportmax, and are good for daily driving with the 40 sidewall tires.

yeah, id have to cut off about 10mm worth of wheel stud, since i only have 15mm spacers, cause the offsets on the sportmax are +35mm. i did one, and then thought about it, and stopped. lol
