Were the first mountain pics at Haleakala? I used to live on Oahu and graduated high school from there. We would always take trips to ther other islands like Maui and Kauai. I wish I had my DSLR back then!!

i'm not sure. Don't remember the name of the mountain, but it is the only one people go there for sunrise and bike down.

Haleakala is 10,000ft up, and looks like you're on a different planet in the day time. They've got signs eveywhere saying not to run or do any heavy activities since there is little oxygen up that high.

yah..that it. THe peak is almost 12,000 feets. They drop us off around 7,000ft to bike down. If anyone of you here will go there in the future, wear extra clothes. VERY COLD.
