You are in good company, I'm a noob photographer myself..
I only started taking it more seriously a few months ago..
I had a beat up 5 year old a Canon Digital Elph up until last Jan.. I learned all I can about exposure, aperature, depth of field, iso & white balance.. all those technical terms and how I could apply them.. The elph could barely do any of that lol
Then, I bought a Panasonic Lumix FZ20 in Jan.. is a nice camera, lot more features.. but soon I outgrew all of it's features as well and realized how important having a nice CMOS sensor is to making a lot of things work right (like depth of field and night photography).. This is when I started to look at other people's pics.. I scoured the net for car pics.. good and bad.. I learned all about photo composition and I also started to learn how to use some software tools like Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro & Noise Ninja..
so after taking thousands of pics this spring(
)... I bought a Canon EOS 20D with a Tamron 17-50MM f2.8 lens last week--a suggestion from someone here..
and i finally feel I have a camera that can do exactly what I want.. and now I'm in the wonderful world of learning all about lenses and filters and things like that..
These were the first pics I took with this camera.. I'm not a DSLR virgin anymore haha.. all pics were in manual mode.. i adjusted as i went..
I still have a lot to learn.. but it's a fun hobby...
