Default Stance, Hotchkis, and More...

Spent the day in Overzealous1's shop working on a few minor mods so I wanted to share some pictures with those that might be interested...

First, here are some before pictures (relatively stock not counting tinted windows and S2K antenna, hehe)...

Default First Up - APS Plenum (Intake Manifold)

Here is the stock manifold side by side with the APS "Tall Boy" plenum...

You can really see the structural differences below...

Here is a picture of the engine bay minus the manifold where you can see a nice view of the "runners" leading down to the cylinder heads...

A little polishing never hurt anyone

Finished product...

Default Next Up - Suspension Mods

We also installed front and rear Hotchkis stabalizer bars to tighten this car up when I'm out at PIR. We used the recommended medium/medium setup...

Again, a look at the OEM front stabalizer bar versus the aftermarket Hotchis bar. The main difference is the adjustability of the Hotchkis unit.

Mounted, rear view...

Using the second hole (or medium setting) and attached to my suspension assembly...

Default More Suspension Mods - Stance Coilovers

Stance is a true coilover which gives you a lot of room to play around when it comes to your suspension.

Here is the rear next to the wheel pre-install phase...

Through the wheel-well:

A shot from underneath where you can see nearly the entire suspension coming together (note the yellow tie wraps, I've heard those are good for 5WHP by themselves!)...

Default Finished Product

As compared to the stock pictures in post number one, you can see we went with a fairly aggressive drop, however the ride quality does not appear to be rougher than OEM nor compromised at any point...

You can also see my favorite mod (clear front lenses). They just make the front end look so much more luxorious in my opinion. Orange just doesn't match or seem to fit?!?!

Thanks for the comments guys.

glowz - I still have to decide on a rear camber/castor kit to correct the amount of camber created when we dropped the back.

My OEM rims/wheels are going to be swapped as a pair of 275 Michelin PS2's are in my near future...

Damn that is the perfect drop for this car. How is the ride on the Stance? And what price range are we looking at for these coilovers?

we were running abit out of time when we finally got wrapped up, so quite a few tuning adjustments need to be made, mostly the camber and toe corrections. once keith gets the camber kits, we can finish it to be a cornering monster.
keith, drive the car a little aggressive and let me know how it feels. we can make the needed adjustments when doing the camber kit. then hit skyline road and find out what other adjustments need to be made, lol.

To answer some of the questions, so far the ride quality is a dream as far as coilovers go. Yes, you can tell that the ride is a bit stiff, but most times it feels just like OEM. MSRP on the coilovers are $1295 which is an absolute steal for a coilover of this quality. If you look in the suspension thread there is some great track feedback from the guys at Performance and VRT.

If anyone is interested in these, PM Jason at World One for a price as he is a certified Stance vendor...

Scott, I'll keep you posted on how it feels. The cornering is already night and day - I can tell that just from aggressive street driving. Once I get the camber kit and brakes, I'll hit you up for some more "garage time" If only there were more track days before the rains come...

EDIT: here is the before-mentioned Stance review thread - https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-suspension/171488-new-stance-sus-coilover-review.html

Just a quick story that had to be shared. Yesterday my girlfriend was craving Taco Bell for whatever odd reason that may have been and when we walked in a group of kids (probably 18-19ish) were audibly gawking at the car. Finally, one of the girls just comes up to me and says she loves the car. As we are ordering food, three other girls were out there with their cell phones taking pictures! It is times like that when you know all the hard work is worth it
