. Damn Leemik, once again, envying your shots...I just got the XTi, getting a bogen/manfrotto tripod (god I need it) and a the 50mm f/2.5 macro lens to get some "bokeh" (dof blurr) and to let me take protraits. I know I need a proper zoom (probably one that maxes to 80mm), but what other lens(es) are in your bag? And being a Canon shooter, and being that the 20D and XTi have the smaller sensors, which lens are indespensable?
Figured I might as well continue growing this thread Mike and copy my post from the local board, even though my shots can't come close to beauty of yours. Fantastic job as usual.

First, thanks to 35Ounces/David for putting the meet together and for helping with everything. Same should be said for Leemik/Mike as he also helped with the iniial Cape Meet and this was really just an extension of that. Also thanks to CelticPride2/Dave and BRIGZIE/Mike for coming early and helping set everything else up. Also thanks to 978G/Joe for helping spread the word about the meet. And thanks to Lotus Man/Will for bringing the Lotus contingent to the meet for added interest. In addition, thanks to everyone that brought food and drinks (thanks for the Coke Matt).
Second, thanks to everyone that donated money. We raised a total of $450 so CFF should end up getting $1800 in the end! I won't be sending it in for a couple of days so if anyone else wants to donate some money, you can Paypal it to me at Anyone2u@comcast.net (put CFF Donation in subject line) and I will add it to the total. Again, thank you very much!
Finally, thanks for everyone showing up and I'm glad it didn't even think of raining this time! It's a great group of people that we have on this board and I look forward to the next meet.
Roger

haha I'm trying to look gangsta hard for the camera
It was suggested to me here to buy the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 .. it's an EF-S only lens and it stays on my camera about 80% of the time.. most of the shots on Sat were with the Tamron.. Love that lens.. I think Taurran uses it too in his great photos...
I've been really liking the Canon 10-22mm lately .. another EF-S only lens.. The extreme barrel distortion I find to be kinda cool when you get close to the subject.. especially with car shots..makes it seem like the car is so fast that it's bending light LOL.. and there somethng about Canon lenses that is different than others.. colors so much more smooth and vivid..
I don't really have any big zooms yet.. planning on the 70-200mm f/2.8L but I used a Sigma 150mm f/2.8 prime macro lens for a few select shots.. that lens is soooo sharp and has such nice bokeh..
I've been playing with my new toy on Sat too.. a Canon 580EX flash for fill lighting.. still trying to learn the ropes on flash photography but some of them came out pretty cool..
Like I mentioned before, I always preserve the EXIF in my pics so you can prolly guess at what lens I used from the distance entry.. and if I used fill flash or not..

It hurt so bad that I had to sit this one out.
All I'm missing now is my front bumper which just arrived in Cali...car should be finished just about the time winter rolls around.
So, if there is a cape meet in the spring, I'll be there.
And if it wasn't for the signature 2-tone paint, I'd doubt you'd recognize the car when you see it.
Again, glad it turned out well.
On a side note, my GF who never drives in MA has told me everytime she drives in MA she sees this red Z with a DRIFT license plate (which has been 2X this year). I wonder who that is.....
PS. how many cars showed up?

Does the plate read "DRIFT Z"...I think the owner is from the East coast.

I was playing around, though, I know exactly who the owner of that car is.
There is even a picture of him on this thread.
