I wish I had known about the PC when I had my black Z. I guess I'll get to test it out on my dad's black truck.

I would not use dawn or any dish washing soap for that matter on a regular basis, but it can be used once or twice a year to strip wax if you plan on rewaxing the vehicle.

I was unable to get one after I did the car, as it was cloudy one day and dark the next night when I got home. It's cloudy outside now and has been raining the past few days, but next time it's sunny I'll snap one.

Gratz on learning how to detail! Now prepare for a life of insanity keeping your LS looking like that all the time.

Very good job! I, too, was about to request close ups as 'after' pics in the interest of fairness until I scrolled to this page. Too many detailers try to pull a fast one by not doing so. Glad to see you did post them!

By the way, did you post these on the Click and Brag?

That could possibly be a panel that was repainted over the oem paint. Occurs over time if the bodyshop did not do a good job at prepping the the body.

I didn't post the "Afters" on the Click-and-Brag b/c I just took them yesterday, and the thread was posted on Autopia about 3 weeks ago. It can be found HERE along with a requested video of the Nismo exhaust. I may add the "Afters" to the page.

Dawn wash using two bucket method (one for soap, one for rinsing)
Clay the car using ClayMagic
Optimum Polish using my PC
Meguiar's #21 to seal the paint using the PC as well

Great job on the detailing, what kind of Pads did you use with your PC? Did Optimum Polish take off the swirls?

I used a white LC pad w/ the Optimum Polish. It took the swirls out w/ 1-2 passes on every panel.
