Well, a couple of days ago I came across an awesome deal on this '05 EVO VIII MR so I traded in my 5AT G35 Coupe on it. Although I loved the G35, I was growing quite bored with the 5AT, so for me, this little EVO is a ton more fun to drive. Although they may not match the Z/G in the looks department, this little SOB can move! I have never really had the chance to drive one before the initial test drive with this one, and I must say that I was quite impressed. Anyway, on to the pics...

nice evo and nice castle in the background! almost went with evo instead of Z, regardless of looks its hard not to love a car that goes like stink!

 

Absolutely lol. Its quite different than my 350Z with B&M short throw. I feel like I am shifting a pickup truck.

Thanks man! Yeah, I am definately loving it so far. I care more about driving experience than looks and the EVO is definately a fun driving experience.

 

Ew, the yellow is horrible. When I get older I want an even bigger house . Well, let me re-phrase that. When I get older I want an even bigger garage.

NOT HOUSE. what year was the G?? i love the way the G looks, i just HATE the ugly headlights on it. the rear is bad a$$, the 4 door just looks funny, because it has 4 doors, and the 2 door kind of does to cause there big a$$ doors, IMO you made a good choice, what was the deal you got?

Hahaha, good catch on the hosue lol. The G was an '04. The deal was this car for $5k under blue book, its a year newer, and has less miles than my G and still has the factory warranty. The dealer I bought it from is the same dealer that my dad buys all of his vehicles as well as his fleet vehicles for his office (about 35 cars a year) so they LOVE him and we get incredible deals from them because of it. Also though, they are a Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep dealer that deals mainly with trucks so the EVO was way off target for the people who go there, so it sat for a while and they wanted to get rid of it. They gave me a 2 hour test drive of it by myself, so the first thing I did was take it to my buddy's shop who races EVOs and we tore it apart to look for any signs of previous accidents or unusual wear & tear. We couldn't find anything so I bought it and with $0 out of pocket I got into it for the same payments I was making on my G35.

 

Soon. The goal is not to make it faster than my 350Z because then I will have a delima on my hands lol. I am toying with the idea of running at Cal Speedway in the street class for the Redline Time Attack in Feb, but if I don't do that I will probably bring it to one or two local HPDEs in the near future.

 

what did or does ur z have? pretty sure the mr is already faster. if not add cams, full 3" exhaust, mbc, flash, and ur good.

also pretty sure it can take it in the turns too

cept his Z is a race car, so I dunno, even with those mods it would be close.

 

He has a built TT Z putting down close to 600rwhp/700rwtq.
