Default A Victim of the jealousy in Miami

I went out to a club with some buddies and parked my car very very close to the club. I guess someone couldnt hack that I had a nice car and decided to throw a very large rock at my windshield. It sux, but people keep telling me that florida has a no fault law and I wont have to pay for it. I just have pip on this car b/c I NEVER drive it anymore. If anyone could shed some light on the insurance situation in florida, on if its possible to get this done for free through my insurance having pip that I have. Thanx guys, it was a very relaxing night untill this happened.

Damn sorry to see that happen to you. To answer your question, I think the insurance will cover it as vandalism. However, depending on your deductible, The cost of replacing a windshield could be less than $500 (normal deductible). Unless you have other arrangements or your insurance clause says otherwise, you’re probably better off paying out of pocket.

damn bro I'm sorry to see this happen. This is one of the couple of reasons why I never take my car to clubs and bars because when people get drunk they get stupid and think they'll make a man out of themselves if they vandalize other people's property. I hope whoever did that gets triple the damage done to his car or get his *** handed to him...

This falls under comprehensive insurance. Which if you are smart you have a Zero dollar deductable on comprehensive (which doest increase your rates much).

Your vehicle was not
1. running
2. in motion
3. struck by another vehichle

It will not fall under collision

This is correct. It will not be covered by collision which is a $500 deductable. On insurance coverage that provides a $500 collision usually has a $100 deductable for comprehensive. Just check with you insurance agent.

If you are saying that you have No fault, which means liability only, then you don't have the coverage. Liability only gives you protection against a law suit, covers you in the event that you are struck by someone without insurance (provided it's police reported within 24 hrs) and as you mentioned P.I.P., which pays your medical bills as a result of an accident.

wow, that really sucks. Sorry to hear. In Fl you can get your windshield replaced for free w/ no deductible. Look in the phone book and call a couple of the places they will come out and take care of all the paperwork for you. As for the other damages, that will depend on your insurance
