Our class is finally learning photography and it's pretty fun. Our teacher gave each of us an Canon PowerShot A610 digital camera and told us to go out and take some pictures. As the title stats, this is my first time, so don't be to harsh.

good job. Keep working hard. I have taking photos since 1970. I am still learning. I think that many of us are eye catchers in one way or another.

when taking macro shots like the ones above, look for objects that have a consistent pattern to keep the eyes locked on the main focal point. When you have objects in the background that stand out, the eyes tend to stray away from the main focal point. The problem with point and shoot cameras is that they tend to keep everything in focus except when shooting in macro mode, so you aren't able to separate your focal point from the background. Once you start shooting with SLRs, you'll have more control of your depth of field and other things. The only one that caught my eye was this shot:

If you crop it differently by eliminating the sky and tweaking the levels slightly, you can give the image a little more impact.

That pic with that red/orange bug....i hate those things. I had like an infestation of them on my car. I couldnt figure out what they were. They looked crazy, had spikes all over them. Then i finally found it online and low and behold...it was a baby ladybug. Anoying little critters.

didnt know he was using PAS.
