Ive read all the dIY section about painting headlights, and am familiar with the process on paper. But, do you have any word of wisdom? Was it a pain in the *** or not too hard? I may be painting mine tomorrow, but im still a little uneasy about the whole baking my headlights concept.

it really wasnt hard at all... just time consuming. after you take the front bumper off and removies the headlights, just take out all the screws around the lights themselves, i think theres maybe 5 or so. i didnt feel like baking them this time around (ive done like 4 other sets for WRX's last year) so i used my heat gun i picked up from pep boys for $20. heated the edges to warm the glue and peeled them apart.

reason being i didnt wanna bake them is because i didnt wanna have to removie the HID ballasts, wires, bulbs and all that nonsense, so it was easier to just use the heat gun. took maybe 10 mins to get it warm enough to pry open.

after opening i removed the plastics painted them and put back into place. and reversed the process... very easy just takes a like 2 hours or so. and i also painted my amber side markers flat black to match the hood and head lights n lip...
