I prefer my muffs on the side these daze. When they're in the middle they like to run the show...

It's the motordyne high flow muffler delete that replaces the "suitcase" section.

It's got a little muff at the top. Just the way I like it

Default Start 'er up!

Got this (for my birthday, via giftcard) to replace one that I can't find the charger cable for (and replacement cable - if it's even right one - costs nearly as much as this new, better one)...

Stupid dilemma: Now that it appears to be all charged up, I have no way to test whether it works or not since all my cars have functional batteries. Uhhhhh.... Oh wait, just remembered, I do have a car in the garage that is totally dead. If it starts that once the build is done, it'll start anything!

I have a similar one - it's the GB50. I've used it a couple times and so far, so good. I even helped out a few strangers jump their cars with it since I keep it in my truck.

Better to have it and not need it then the opposite situation!

Especially when one is old and doesn't know how to program AAA on their phone.

I got some Coco Mats for my Z. These seemed like the standard floor mats for sports cars back in the 60's and 70's. I had them in my Austin Healey Sprite and my Porsche 914. The bring a little bit of nostalgia to t he Z.

Oh, wow! I looked for those about a year ago, never found them. Found some close but not quite. Mind if I ask where you sourced those? They look great in your car!

You're right, those were big in the (from my age perspective) 70s-80s! Had several sets in different Zs (S30) and at least one of my Bimmers. Want!

I’m feeling pretty stupid. After nearly 30 years in the search biz, never thought to just type the obvious URL. Doy. Thanks KornerKarver!

Why stretch a 245 on a 9.5"?

255/285 min with those widths, it's a waste of wheels.

Nahh, no waste, IMO.

The long time recommendation has been 9.5/10.5, 245/275.

A 9.5" wheel = 241mm, making the tire/wheel ratio almost exactly 1:1 running a 245 so there's virtually zero stretch and the "square shoulder theory" doesn't really work here.

NOT saying anything is wrong with 255/285 (have run that combination on four sets of wheels) but if we're gonna split hairs here, a 255 would require a 10" wheel to achieve that 1:1 squared up profile. But the bottom line is... As long as the tire/wheel relationship stays in the 90-120% range (the acceptable range for a performance application not physical fit), we're all good.

But that's not why I am even making the point.... Have you checked on the availability of 255/40 - 285/40 18" tires lately? If you go on TR and do a search for that specific combo versus 245/275, the latter outnumbers the previous some 21 sets versus.... 2. Yup, two.

Even going with 19s, 245/275 still outnumbers 255/285 some 30 to 17. (But they're easier to find than 18s)

Again, not saying anyone's wrong at all but availability of suitable rubber DOES make a big difference in my book. And honestly, takes a lot more to get the bigger tires up to optimal op-temp so for my runs up and down the hills, there's nothing gained going larger.

My issue with the topic is I go with what the manufacturer "measured rim width" is that is square to me and nothing else. That number for the 245 is 8.5" which means you are stretching the tire 1".
My DD has 235/40/18 on a 8" wheel and it really doesn't even look square lol.

245/40 on 9.5 used to be the recommended size, but that was a long while back. The stretch wouldn't bother me as much as the wheels do. Not a fan of the fake 3 piece look.
