No it's a style of photographic editing. You take three photos from the same location with 3 different exposure levels usually(+2/0/-2) and then blend them together.

Please correct me if i'm wrong. How long does the editing take after you've done it for a while? My first PS vector piece took 18 hours so i'm guessing it's no where near that long to edit.

Yeah, it's photomatix. The trial version is free with unlimited usage, but it'll have a water mark until you buy the software. Here's a tutorial about it from my last thread.

Nice pics!

In photoshop, what mode do you set the layers to for "blend"?

I've always wanted to do this, but never knew what exactly to do in photoshop.

Pretty cool. If I had more time on my hands, I would definitely get into photography. My next investment is an SLR.

I didn't even take it into photoshop. All of this was done in the trial version of Photomatix. The best way to get the photos to blend is to use a tripod. On the XTi, if you go into the menu, under AEB, you can set it so it changes the exposure when you're shooting multiple shots.

I use hdri's to light my 3d scenes. Simply amazing for reflection maps and soft shadows. Creating them is very time consuming but they are fun to play w/ inside CS2. HDR Shop is a good freeware program to use as well for the initial creation process.

AEB aka Auto Exposure Bracketing.

I like the first set better. This shows exactly why i LOVE HDR photo's as well. The first picture is nice, but it really doesn't "pop" out as anything special. The HDR really makes the colors shine and is much more appealing IMO.

Here are some sweet HDR Photos from a Photographer in our 350z club who lives in Germany. They are pretty sweet shots. What do you think?
