Very nice setup you have there. Wouldn't mind driving that to work everyday.

haha, cheesy answer would be why not. But a little explanation below.

Well it's a weird story. I'm 29, when I was 16-17 it was in the import explosion (if you could call it that) of the 90s. Always thought those all out cars were badass. Had my own little builds but life does it's things so had to pull back from the heavy modding. Have 3 kids now and when I was looking at new cars a sporty coupe didn't make sense with the need for a car seat. GS430 and a few other cars were in the running but ended up with the FX for it's styling and extra bit of space for the fam.

Slapped on a Stillen supercharger at 5k miles, blew the motor at 12k miles. Did the JWT TT and went nutty after that. Had my fun with the drag racing (12.7 @ 110) and wanted to keep modding it so I did the whole engine bay spruce up deal and went to my first car show. Got a trophy and was hooked from there.

Did not set out to do the whole widebody deal but from looking at the details of the FX I didn't really see any other way to do it right. The stock lines were hard to work with, so we decided to altered the difficult ones and went from there. I'm sure there are things others would do differently but hey that's modding.

This isn't the first FX body kit out there. Pro-Drive did a concept one a long time ago. Fairly subtle, but the work done with the body mouldings and the pasted on look was not the look we wanted.

Here's another one out there as well. There were some aspects of this one I could kind of appreciate, but again the work with bodymoulding just made it look half assed. (sorry to the designers)

If you're not familiar with the body moulding I'm referring to it's black plastic running all around the FX. Here are some pics, pre body work. I had it painted glossy black in an attempt to make it lo0k better, it's normally the type of plastic armor all would make shiny.

Thanks for all the positive comments, neutral and any negative ones as well. Just having fun modding this thing as you guys do, my project is just a little more difficult at times since my aftermarket support relies heavily on the other Nissan vehicles and what may or may not fit my ride. Goal is to see this project thru with no sponsors and done my way. It's at 90% in my head, shooting to get to 95% and know there's always something else to do but most will be the little details stuff.

If anyone around socal needs photography Gdup35sedan is great to work with and eager to shoot and hoen his skills.
If anyone is looking to do completely one off stuff. Auto Explosion in Gardena can do just about anything.

Happy modding all.
