you guys are clueless. you are at the most a foot away from the car. You have a better chance of rubbing a small piece of dirt into your car and causing tons of scratches using a towel. Hell I better not DRIVE my car or the WIND is going to hurt it! LOL@your ingnorance. Leaf blowers FTW!

He's not using a gas powered leaf blower. My shop vac actually has a blower on it as well. This just blows most water down from the car. You go from the top down, not from the down up. A towel is also used in the process. Maybe you are thinking of a hardcore, full blowing leaf blower which is not the case.

Well when you can get me a towel that can dry in, around, and behind mirrors, headlights, taillights, and all those other small crevices, I'll stop the use of the blower. Until than I'll use the "dumb", "stupid", and "lazy" method to dry my car.

edit: Don't misinterpret that as, i dry my entire car with a leaf blower..

I don't believe he gets swirl marks for one.

Next time you are in a public restroom and you have to dry your hands I hope for your sake they have paper towels. You'll just have to walk by the blow dryers because the first time you use one YOU ARE OWNED

I use the leaf blower after I initially dry my Z with the chamois. I also use the Meguiar's NXT wax. Are you applying one coat then waiting a week then applying the next? I went to the detailing class that Meguiar's holds at its headquarters about a year ago. The instructor told us that was the best way to apply it. Do one coat a weekend for two to three weeks. I have done that to all my cars. Anyway, I have seen a noticeable improvement in all of my car's finishes. There is also a plus when using a synthetic wax, it holds up better in the heat. Here is a picture of my Z at last weekends Blackhawk show. Waxed it the weekend before with NXT.

I've used Tech Wax myself on white, and although there were no differences from standard Caranuba wax, it did feel wetter and slicker. Although, personally i've yet to use ONLY Tech wax. I've used Caranuba, then Tech wax over it as an extra slick agent.

Seel - Just ignore _NIZMO_ (clueless newb) and Cozmo (just plain clueless).

In any case, the leaf blower method has been covered and proven plenty of times in these forums.

As for NXT, how does it compare to Gold Class wax (also Meguiar's, if you've used that before)? How does it compare to any other wax for that matter.

Also make sure you use microfiber towels to buff the car. I got my set at Costco. If you dont have one of those just make sure you get a good brand of towels with a high fiber count.
