Thats easy, I dont drive my car in the rain. And if it does rain, its no biggiee, I just dry things off when I get home. My vents are low enough that it really doesn't get much other than the fan wet. Its good for my turbo though since it is right under the driver side vent. Not much engine heat soak.
Ahh, very good man, did you use a dremmel? My hood is carbon fiber so we used a dremmel to get the job done. Not too much of a pain but measure, measure, re-measure, and measure some more. I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about.
Ohh.......you think your done, measure again

yeah the hot air release is good, but i'd think rain water on a hot turbo would crack the metal lets just say "if" u get caught in the rain. My gf's EVO i banned her from driving in the rain due to the vent on top being completely open. Im worried about the rusting as well. not from driving but letting it sit outside in the rain. glad she has a garage.

To combat the rust, I sanded the entire turbo down really well on the hot side. I painted it with a high temp black exhaust manifold paint that would protect it. Then I heat wrapped it so that it would be further protected from the elements.
Again though, I dont drive it daily, I never take it out in the rain, the only way it would ever get wet is if I was caught in an unexpected rain shower. Which would **** me off since it takes so dang long to detail my car because I am so ****.
