As for the 70-200 2.8 IS, not yet. I decided to invest in a good tripod before I make the jump to an L glass. What good is it to me if I have a POS tripod that won't support it?
What about you? You're looking into the 70-200 4 IS, right?

Shoot, a good tripod is $200 with $100 ball head. It's all you need. 055xbpro Manfrotto with RCII head? That's what my next tripod is going to be.
Again, it never ends. And you are a pro... if you're charging $ for photography work, by definition, you're a pro.

I plan on going with the 055XPROB legs and 488RC2 ball head, but I'm waiting to test out a friend's setup before I commit. To me, a $300 tripod setup is a big commitment.
It's a very common setup, but if it works then it works. Like I said, I'd like to try it out before I make the plunge.Heh, I knew you'd bring the official definition of "pro" up.
Well, I've gotta be the worst professional photog there is then. Thread
