Color Code AX8, Brickyard, is a 1 year only color offered in 2003 when the 350Z was first introduced.
The Dealer Order Book's color chip sample appeared to be a "Purple" instead of the Deep Metallic Red that it really is.
No Dealers ordered this color because they thought no one would buy a Purple car.
Some estimate that of the 35,000 '03s produced, only about 1,700 came out of the Japanese Factory in the Brickyard Color which was dropped for '04.
Additionally, mid way through the '03 production year, once dealers and buyers saw that Brickyard's Metallic Glistened in the Sun, and was really a Deep Red...
Then, as more orders for it came in, Nissan stopped ordering the AX8 paint, and those later year production models came with Black Hood Inners as it was in such short supply to fill the rapidly increasing orders for AX8.
The Green in this Thread looks Good... Below are the colors offered on the 350Z over the years... The Silvers are well represented.
Note that another Burgundy Color - more Brownish than Brickyard later came out called Interlagos Fire, code L40.
