Congratulations.....Toyota power right???

With so little weight to push around, power requirements are minimal. Most Lotus Elises feature a Toyota-sourced (and Yamaha-built) 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine.

http://www.edmunds.com/lotus/elise/review.html

Power for the Lotus Elise comes from a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The Toyota-sourced engine benefits from Lotus-designed intake and exhaust components and a tweaked engine controller. The result is a broader power band and an increase in output to 189 hp at 7,800 rpm and 133 pound-feet of torque at 6,800 rpm.

Ditch the engine you got and put a turbo hayabusa engine in it built to 500hp.

oooorrr this insanely nasty hayabusa derived v8 making 400hp at 10,000rpm

This is how your lotus SHOULD sound!
http://www.h1v8.com/f/h1.mpg

(wish I had this in my z, but imagine turboing that v8 lol)

no you wont. The forcedfed kit is no longer produced. They are in production of the last 15 kits and those are already presold. There was a group buy for this on lotus talk. My buddy is on the list for one of these last ones. All you can do now is attempt to go SC, and the only kit that is carb legal is back-ordered for well over a year.

Get on lotus talk and learn before you mod. Modding these cars is about as expensive as modding a porche.

It won't fit kiddo. The only other engine you can feasibly place in the elise is the K20 type R motor. The engine bay is incredibly tiney, which is why all services are engine-out services lol.

Secondly, this thing has ITB's and it is a high rev motor, so this would be the WORST engine to turbo!!!

Yeah as you laugh driving by them with your wider tires and increased stability from the aerodynamics, and I would put a GT wing on it too so they can have something to laugh at while you pass them coming out of a long sweeper. (as long as your making enough power to warrant these mods, anyway. I guess traction isnt a very big issue for the elise guys lol)

Sorry, I didn't know that, kiddo.
Edit: and you seriously can't fit a turbo hayabusa engine in an elise? Isnt a motorcycle engine smaller then a k20?

Never seen ITB's with an airbox over them? Or perhaps ordering the motor without them and make a custom intake manifold? You have never seen a high revving turbo set up? You can't put lower compression pistons in these engines? kiddo?

You're an idiot. This isn't a widebody kit, this is just a cheap body kit. If you want a body kit for this car you do an exige conversion like John (our once motorsports moderator). This kit will weaken the areodynamics of the car which are already fantastic.

Traction is a huge deal for the lotus guys. It's the reason why they only get 5,000 miles on a set of tires. Go learn about Lotus's before you shoot your mouth off again

p.s. the gt wing lotus uses helps the areodynamics, so yes I WOULD get it!!!

Dude, please. look at the engine specs. I've seen turbo'd cars with ITB's but that is really going overboard. You still can't fit that engine in that car.

Why would you put a turbo hyabusa motor in an elise? WHY?!!!!!!!!!!! I never said it wouldn't fit, only the stupid V8 you posted

You need to relax. Enough with the name calling, grow up buddy. I never claimed to be a lotus expert. That v8 is hardly stupid and why would you want a 500hp turbo engine that revs to 10k in your car? Are you really asking this question?

Goto sleep or something.

i dont see why you all think you couldnt fit...im 6 ft tall and i have like a good 9 inches of clearance above my head. as long as you can fit in a bucket seat like a bride then you should be fine in this car...

i love it...and yes its a daily for now until i drop 2k on a piece of crap civic. lol

This is why Im going K20.

http://tunertrader.vidiac.com/video/...2501263c25.htm

The K20 responds much better to mods than the Toyota motor.
