Default History Of Glex25's G35(Pics Broadband Only)

I had plenty of cars before but this one struck my heart

Then came the G35 and my old sweetheart had competition(5/27/05)

A month later (6/17/05 System/Tints/Front Lip)

2 months later the 350GT saga begins (8/19/05 350GT plates/Gialla Grille/Clear Corners/Stillen Swaybars Unseen)

For a month I thought I was content and start buying some more toys (9/21/05 Skyline Plate Frame/Seibon TS Hood)

I thought there would be no performance mod for my since Plenum spacers we found to offer nothing for the Rev-up motors but Tony from Motordyne came to the rescue and I started beta testing (11/18/05 MREV+ w 5/16th Spacer, Before(Baseline) and After Dyno)

A few days later a new part came in to my content. More power I screamed like a mad scientist(11/21/05 HKS Exhaust arrived, 11/22/05 HKS Exhaust Installed)

Northeast winters tend to throw you for a curve so I had to be ready to protect my baby. New tires and wheels were in order for the G to handle winters(12/22/05 ASA JH8 18x8.5,18x9.5/ Dunlop Winter Msport tires)

Stay Tuned for the year 2006

The year is 2006 and the first mod was 06 OEM projector headlights(3/1/2006)

Less than a month later my new summer wheels came(3/30/06 Racing Hart RS721 19x9, 19x10.5 wrapped in Toyo T1R's)

A few days later my Tein Basics are in and ready to install so I head down to RaceMRC Dyno Day(4/1/06 Tein Basics + installation)

A few Days later PeteNJ offers his Photo services to do a Photoshot(4/8/06 Original thread here PeteNJ Photoshoot)

Some Pics I took on my own that same day

Did a few things in between the next time line. Didn't take any pictures but here is the next set (6/12/06 SPC Camber Arms x 4/ UTR Roof Spoiler/Debadged Finally)

External phase has commence starting with a failed Nismo bumper from AutomotiveMods (7/9/06 Urethane Nismo Bumper)

More suspension mods in the form of Full GTspec Chassis braces 8/30/06)

Tried once again at some exterior mods (11/11/06 Black Mirror base/Ings Inserts/SP CF Grille)

This covers the year of 2005-2006.
Stay tuned for year of 2007 tomorrow(the FI year)

The year is 2007(FI Year)

The year didn't start well.
Jan 4, 2007 I thought I had weathered the drunk drivers from New Years unscathed, Lo n Behold on this day of days some one tapped me from behind
on the first turn a 45MPH S-Turn. The cars rear slid left and I tried to recover.
The car slid right and sent me head first into a rail. The other driver ran thank god for a Off-Duty officer who stayed around and explained to the responding officer about the chain of events. Here is the aftermath.

I don't know who the hell I pissed but someone gave me a serious case of the evil for 2007. With my car still in the bodyshop and me running around in my beater(97 Mitsu GST). On March 14, 2007 after dropping off my son at his day care a PSEG(Public Service Enterprise Group) work truck blows a stop sign 2 blocks from my son's day care and totals my GST. They find the PSEG driver at fault and a ambulance takes me to the hospital to check me over. Currently I'm still going through therapy because of that accident and had 2 operations. Here is the aftermath

April 8th, 2007 I finally get my car back out of the bodyshop(ATX Motorsports). The only thing different from before is the KurumaZ front bumper and different bulbs in the headlights.

April 24th, 2007 The check came from the insurance company for the GST. I was planning on making the GST my FI project and leave the G NA. Now with the GST gone I decided to bring the car down to MRC and get a APS TT installed. Here are the pics of the Aps Kit being Installed and ACT Streetlite Flywheel/Act HD Clutch combo. Pictures courtesy of Julian@MRC. (APS TT kit, Utec w/ supporting sensors and boost controller, Autometer Gauges(Fuel Press, EGT, Boost), Act HD Clutch/Streetlite Flywheel, UTR Test Pipes, TurboXs Oil Catch Can)

The APS TT kit calmed the modding beast inside of me for quite awhile.
I attended lots of meets met new people and just finally enjoyed my car.
The only things that were done to the car during this time period was reg maintenance. Here are some pics of how the rest of 2007 went.

Two of my little man out for the count after a long day at a meet

The year is 2008

I learned alot from 2007. I worked on the car myself on a constant basis and tweaked the suspension constantly to get it where I wanted it through trial and error during Road Courses and AutoX. Found a few things that needed to be revised and other things that needed to be completely overhauled.

Here are my findings:

1. I do not like Test Pipes
2. UR HFC are Garbage(Passenger side complete gutted its insides)
3. Tein basics are not meant for track events.
4. Track tires are almost non-existent in a 19".
5. I liked the Circuit Strut Bar better than Richie V1 STB(single piece offers more rigidity)
6. HKS Exhaust would eventually have to go.
7. I definitely needed a set of BBK(OEM just weren't cutting it)
8. I needed to put the power down more evenly across both rear tires.

So near the end of 2007 I started making a wish list.
It didn't take long to start making the purchases I felt were needed.

Here is the list and pictures of some of the items.

1. BC Racing Coilovers
2. Greddy Evo TT Exhaust
3. Fast Intentions Metallic HFC (300 Cell) w/ extra bungs for Wideband.
4. Nismo Finned Cover
5. HKS SSQV BOV

Certain things couldn't wait for so I installed them during the month of Dec/07. The BC Racing I installed during New Years day while everyone was
still recovering from their hangover. I ordered a Cusco RS LSD(Auto) for The G with plans to swap diff's with a automatic G35 that had already volunteered. After a month and a half trying to coordinate with the other vehicle to get the job done he backed out and I was stuck with a LSD I was not able to use . The Cusco RS LSD(6MT) were on backorder and I had to wait it out. During this time I sell one of my ASA JH8 to offset the cost of a set of Rota Torque's I had ordered way back in Oct of 07. Finally they came in and I took a ride to get the LSD I needed(Adam@Z1Auto). I finally get the rest of the parts and install the LSD, Diff cover and new wheels.

I installed my old autox tires on the new wheels for the mean time.
I went to a few events and felt the car was on ice.
The old tires were done for and I had to get new tires.
I ordered a set of Nitto Invo's(255/40/18, 275/40/18) from Don@ tireoption.
Installed the new tires and every thing looked good.
Took the car back to the AutoX and tested the new tires.
They felt great and I started pushing the car to its limits
and the limit of the BC Racing Suspension.

I spoke with Pete@BC Racing and we spoke about what possible choices I have to correct the issues I found. We came to the conclusion that the normal out of the box setup(10K front, 8K rear) was not ideal for me and what I needed was stiffer spring rates and revalved coilover body. I gave the thumbs up and Pete made it happen. A week later I received my new setup with a extra set of springs(12k Front, 10K Rear) in case I found the spring rate selection I made too stiff(14K front, 12K Rear). During this time I was also actively searching for a BBK as I mentioned earlier the OEM brakes just won't do. BBK are expensive and I had to make choices so I sold my Racing Harts so I could afford the BBK. I had another set of ASA JH8 which I had to sell since they wouldn't clear the BBK and ordered a set of Rota P45R's to take its place. The car at this time was also going through another transformation exterior wise. I ordered Ings+1 Rear Apron from Bulletproof and purchased a set of authentic Ings+1 sideskirts from a local member

I was not happy with the color matching and returned the car to the bodyshop. I also had them do black out the headlights and grille to match the
P45R. While the car was at the bodyshop I had the plenum powder coated and made some modification to the Richie STB V2. I also started stocking up some other things like tires(6 Toyo RA1 R-Compound, 2 Pirelli Racing Slicks)

So here is the final product.
These pictures were taken from HIN this weekend.

I have cleaned the engine bay a bit by adding a 350Z engine cover and relocating the Oil catch can. There were other things that I didn't touch on earlier. I have also added a Pioneer 6dvd changer in the upper glove compartment, Pioneer XM Navtraffic.

I would like to thank all the vendors and sponsors that
helped me through all this and my wife and kids for being understanding and giving a helping hand when I needed it.

Wow. So much respect. Very impressive storyline.
I like the tt part. Awesome ride. It is sooo hard to stop.

The end result is easily as entertaining as the evolution.

Great thread! Makes me wish I had documented mine better over the years.

For all of you guys who haven't met Gio, he's definitely a cool guy. I remember he showed up to a one of our meets and just jumped right in and helped someone with their coilover install. Note that this was the first time he showed up at one of our meets. He didn't even know anyone and he offers his help.

Look at that smile.

www.Autox4u.com

Usually has all northeast events listed for Autox.
I usually participate in the events held @ Giant Stadium.
Right now they are few and far between and I will be trying to attend
the ones @ Etown on Sat.

Full Road Course

I have been to are Pocono's Raceway, Limerock in CT.
I haven't tried the new road course @ Etown though.

I also have been wanting to run with these guys.
