No, that part was pretty easy. I attached the diffuser to the car using duct tape first, then traced the outlines of the brackets onto the bumper (tricky part, be very careful). Then took the brackets off and put them up to the bumper, drilled the holes, attached the brackets, then attached the diffuser. It came out perfectly leveled. There is enough play to get it right. The hardest part that center bracket. Shop will charge you way too much for something like this. I recommend you do it yourself with a friend. This way you can get it perfect. Shops always mess up, it's just how it is.

Was being lazy, and went against TheShaddix's advice and took it to a shop to have it installed. I was quoted $70 over the phone, then I got there and he said he'd have to take the bumper and the exhaust of for install and wanted $120. I was like F it, I'll just do it myself...

The shop is bs-ing you big time. You don't need to do any of that. The install is easy, even with all the cutting. I recommend you get a dremel or a saw for a cleaner cut. Mine isn't exactly clean. I'll post more pics in a bit. I have a lot of pictures from this bbq meet in norco.

Today I took it off again to cut it some more. I didn't cut enough the first time around which caused rattling due to exhaust canisters touching it. This thing collects road debris like no other, so a leaf blower would be a good addition to this mod.
Things to keep in mind when cutting/putting it on:
-cut enough to make sure this thing does NOT touch the exhaust at all and has some room to wobble and still not hit it. So cut away. This piece won't crack.
- be careful and don't cut yourself, also be aware that carbon fiber leaves a lot of nasty mess when you cut it.
- make sure the car is high enough (jack stands are a must!). Also don't forget that it may start rolling if not secured properly. Block the front wheels to be safe.
- if you're working alone, just use duct tape and tape one side of the diffuser to the bumper while attaching the other side with the bolts.
- Don't use any kind of tape around the cut edges near the mufflers to make it look better. It'll melt!
- don't tighten it too much or you'll crack your cf piece.
- those aluminum hangers that come with the diffuser do not work with the 06-07 Z's. And they aren't necessary.
I used a drill and a sharp razor knife to cut thru. I drilled a bunch of holes in a curve and then cut thru them with the knife, then refined the edges some more to cut off the carbon fiber stuff. I also spray-painted all the visible screws black to blend them in. I know my cutting looks like a mess, but you really can't see it when the piece is on and it's the best I could do with the tools i had, and the result is exactly what i wanted: no rattle and 100% clearance.
