i think the side pieces are what make the diffuser cool.

since our cars are NEARLY identical from the outside (color and wheels), i pretty much made my decision of getting this diffuser, but with the nismo z front bumper and varis sides.

the diff w/o the sides makes it look blahhhhhhhhh...

i have to agree on this one. I just cant imagine not having those side pieces. But they shake and flex when you hit bumps (wont notice unless driving behind your own car). I wish they were more ridig. Overall i wish the quality of the whole thing was a bit better such as the cut lines everywhere - they aren't even straight. Whoever made this thing at mastergrade did a sloppy job. But overall it's a nice piece. I took it off the other day to cut some more off and the rear looked so damn stock and lame without it. Huge difference.

Your car is by far one of the most beautiful Z's i have ever seen. It definately has the stance and offset i could only wish for. The diffusor is amazing. And great tire choice! I will be sure to upgrade to PS2's when the time comes.

it's been over a month now since i'd put the diffuser on. It's holding up pretty good. There is no way around it, you gotta cut all that junk off. It's a piece of carbon fiber, not a door panel. Who cares if it's neat or not where you can't even see it. I'd rather do all the work myself and ensure a 100% fitment than have a shop cut it nicely and not even cut enough or cut too much, and pay a few bills for that. Forgot to mention, a few weeks ago I've added a few supporting brackets: one in the middle to reinforce the weak part; two alum. brackets on both sides as well (can't really see) and also screwed the Z-brackets to the inner side of the bumper, which brought it closer together and made it stronger. The vortex generators were also fastened to the bumper to prevent them from shaking. All that was done by a friend of mine who's does this kind of work for a living.

The diffuser looks sick but I can't see myself cutting into my diffuser like that. I bought a Voltex diffuser for my Evo and I had to sand it slightly and even that was hard. Can't imagine doing what you did...brave man

that sucks that you had to trim it out. you should get some rubber to cover up the parts you cut out, like around the whitish edges....
